Part 8 - Buoyancy

Updated: Jul 29, 2021

*Breaks door* Here's another update! (reference to the shining haha I'm so funny)

So I started to work a bit on level design as I want one of my levels to be set on a ship. I've looked into how to add and change the water in ue4 as well as how to make things float on water. Setting this up was surprisingly easy. The only issue being the 'buoys' you have to add to the ship to make it float; you can't actually see them so you have to use placeholder objects and type in the locations manually which is a pain but it doesn't seem too bad.

Also, I forgot to mention it last time but I had my Beta demonstration a few days ago and it went ok, I haven't made as much progress as I was hoping but it's ok ill catch up since pretty much all the other coursework is done.

I've finished adding animations for the player and the bandit as well. Oh yeah and lastly I found a cool weapons pack that I can use. I also managed to figure out how to attach weapons to a character.

One more thing I've applied for an extension for the project which I got so I have another couple of weeks to work on this game thankfully, with the possibility of having two extra months if I do this as a retake; although I doubt that i'll need it.
