This was a game that I and two friends made while at university. We wanted to fast-track the submission so this game was game in about a week.
The aim of the game is to get as many points as possible in 10 minutes, which you can get by standing on 'control points' which spawn randomly in different rooms for a couple of minutes each, however, you lose a % of your points every time you get killed.
After we had planned out the game I was responsible for the game and level design of the game, as well as designing the UI for the game.
I decided on a very colourful theme for our game as I believed it would not only suit this type of game but would also work well with the gameplay we envisioned.
All the assets for this game are premade assets that we found online.
I decided to make the map out of 8 separate rooms, in order for the game to be big enough for up to 20 players, which is the maximum player count we could host for the multiplayer framework we were using.
I first created the different rooms from the assets, after which I added the lighting, different coloured lighting for each room to make it easy for the players to be able to find the room where the control point is.
When designing the rooms, as I only had a handful of different assets I was forced to be creative and move the assets around into unexpected and random positions to make all the rooms look different, while still having the same aesthetic.
